The Decorative Painting Bug

Years a go, I got the decorative painting bug and still have it.

Over those years, I spent a good  deal of time and money, looking for information , helping my self to gain better knowlegde about the art of decorative painting, especially the traditional European folk art and tole painting, like the Norwegian rosemaling , The Dutch hindeloopen, The Swiss and Germanic bauernmulerei, and many more .

owned some decorative books, paints, massive number of brushes and tools, plus search the net for new ideas, patterns ,books and DVDs ,all specialized in this field, but to be honest to you ,I did not practice enough ,and did not put my hands into the real  issue, until one day, while searching the net I found this webstie.

The site  was loaded with information about the history of many European folk art, beautiful tole painting work, done by the studio ownerRohizen, and many more usful things.

First I thought the studio is in The States, until I was shocked, to found out that the studio is right here in KUWAIT.

I immediately sent an Email providing my phone  number, and within 2 hours got a call from a Lady inviting me to her place. the next day I was at the foot steps of her beautiful Studio, making my first art project.

I learn a lot in my first class, preparing the surfase for painting, base coating, comma stroke, using the liner, and many more. My teacher was so lovely so informative.

then came the second lesson,

The picture above shows my first Hindeloopen, The art came from Netherland, a place where the sea town of Hindeloopen. I fell in love with hindeloopen art.

so I took a nother lesson in  hineloopen.

then made the one below ,at home by my own self, but took the pattern from Heleen Van der Haar book,I mixed my own colors.

The second attempt by my own ,was this hanger, made the pattern by my self ,if their is any body would like to have the  patrern, it will be my pleasure .

I have attended many Classes with my Lovely Teacher Rohizen, some were private and some with lovely people and have gained many great friendships.

Hope I will start with her a new project, at the end of this month, because my sweet teacher is in vacation right now.

Hmmm I should guess were is she now ??? last summer she was near to the north pole, so maybe this summer ,she will be in South Africa??
